Meetings for Carers
There are regular zoom meetings for Carers local to Brackley and Towcester and surrounding areas:
Breathing Space is also here for Carers
Northamptonshire Carers encourage both those with COPD and their Carers to be involved in their ‘Breathing Space’ groups.
1 in 4 of us will be an unpaid Carer at some time in our lives. You may be providing support to someone of any age who cares for a relative, friend or neighbour who has a disability, long-term physical or mental health condition or other additional needs.
Caring for someone else can be stressful, isolating and sometimes financially difficult. It may also bring great satisfaction and rewards.
However, by attending the Breathing Space group, Carer’s have access to a wealth of additional support from ‘Northamptonshire Carers’ because we all need help sometimes.
It may be chatting to other Carers, understanding your partner’s condition a little better and how this can be managed together, or just enjoying the informal atmosphere our dedicated support groups can offer.
Northamptonshire Carers also provides:
- A support line offering a listening ear and emotional support
- A Carers sitting service offering regular respite
- Carers assessments approved by NCC
- Carers wellbeing workshops
- Virtual Carers Cafes
- Choir and Ukulele groups
When Carers first join the groups they are given an extra special welcome and the relevant paperwork to register as a Carer to enjoy all these benefits.
